Resin flows along the outer live edge of a walnut slab, framing and protecting the organic timber at its center — a serving tray that reads like a gallery piece. Choose your size and resin color, and we pour, cure, and hand-finish your tray to order. Hidden beneath a contrasting-wood inlay on the back, an embedded NFC smart tag links it to a story all its own.

Peras (πέρας) means "the boundary" — the resin frame traces and highlights the natural edge of the wood.

Specifications

  • Sizes: 12" × 18" or 18" × 24", approximately 3/4" thick (live-edge slabs vary slightly — your tray is one of one).
  • Materials: Sustainably sourced live-edge walnut and food-safe deep-pour epoxy.
  • Finish: Hand-rubbed organic mineral oil and beeswax, sanded to a glass-like 600-grit.
  • Production time: Each tray is poured and cured to order — please allow 3 weeks.

The Hidden Smart Tag — A Living Connection, Built In

Turn the tray over and you'll find a small contrasting-wood inlay set flush into the back — part of the craft, not bolted on. Beneath it sits an embedded NFC chip. Tap it with any smartphone (no app to download) and a private page opens, unique to your tray and powered by our Tapped platform.

  • A personal message — ideal when your tray is a wedding, housewarming, or anniversary gift.
  • The story of its build — the wood species, the maker who shaped it, and the day it was finished in our Leo, Indiana workshop.

Because the page lives online, the story never goes stale — it can grow with the piece long after it leaves our bench.

Care

Hand wash with mild soap, dry immediately, and refresh with food-safe board oil every few months. Use a cutting board for knife work — resin surfaces are for serving. The full care & keeping guide lives on your tray's smart-tag page — just tap to open it anytime.
