Moving beyond the surface, the Charis Studios Legacy Plinth features a physical wood-into-wood inlay that creates a permanent, structural bond. We use high-precision technology to excavate the heart of a solid hardwood block and fuse a contrasting species into the grain. The result is a seamless, two-tone masterpiece where your monogram, logo, or milestone becomes one with the wood.

The Wood Collection

Every Plinth is crafted from solid, hand-selected hardwoods. You have the freedom to choose any species for your base and any species for your inlay.

• Bolivian Rosewood: Our premier exotic offering. An ultra-dense hardwood with deep "ink-and-chocolate" grain. This is our heaviest and most luxurious option, providing a stone-like feel.
• American Black Walnut: The gold standard of executive design. Known for its cool-toned, chocolate browns and regal presence.
• Black Cherry: A warm, reddening wood that lives and breathes. It begins as a golden-pink and deepens into a rich, reddish-amber over time.
• Hard Maple: Prized for its pale, luminescent cream tones and superior durability. It provides a clean, modern canvas or a brilliant highlight.

Design Styles: Contrast vs. Texture

• High Contrast: Pair Hard Maple with Rosewood or Walnut for a bold, crisp design that stands out from across the room.
• Tone-on-Tone (Ghosted Inlay): For the ultimate minimalist aesthetic, select the same species for both the base and the inlay. Because the base is End Grain and the inlay is Long Grain, your design will appear as a subtle, holographic "ghost" image that reveals itself as the light hits the grain from different angles.

Hand-Finished Excellence

Every plinth is hand-sanded to a buttery 220-grit and sealed with Odie’s Oil—a 100% organic, food-safe finish that enhances the natural depth of the wood without a plastic-like film.

Mounting & Display Options

Choose how you want to showcase your piece at checkout. We prepare each block specifically for its final home.

1. The Shelf Display (Free-Standing)

Designed to sit beautifully on a mantel, desk, or built-in bookshelf.

• Finish: Fully finished with Odie’s Oil on all six sides, including the back.
• Vibe: A heavy, tactile object meant to be picked up and admired.

2. The Professional Wall Mount (Flush-Fit)

Ideal for office entryways or gallery walls.

• Hardware: Includes a recessed keyhole slot routed into the back.
• Installation: We provide a mounting template and the necessary hardware to ensure a perfectly level, flush-to-the-wall fit.

3. The Floating Mount (Command Strip Method)

A renter-friendly option for clean, "floating" installs with no tools or holes.

• Method: Specifically designed for use with 3M Command Strips.
• Finish: To ensure the strongest possible adhesive bond, the back of the plinth is left sanded but unfinished (raw wood).
